Nightclubs
As it is very difficult to get around the WHOLE world to see the various different nightclubs, we thought we’d review a couple more for you!
Skye, Brazil: One of the most recognisable landmarks in San Paulo is the Hotel Unique, one of the few examples of contemporary architecture in the town. If you are ever in San Paulo, you MUST take a tribe up to the top-floor to visit to Skye. Skye is a rooftop pool and deck area that boasts one of the best views of San Paulo and conveniently, it also doubles up as an amazing club!
The lit-up skyline of downtown San Paulo reaches as far as the eye can see in an amazingly stunning display of lights, architecture and uninterrupted sky. Reminiscent of bars that you might find in St. Tropez, the design of the rooftop is open and sparse with no visual barriers to inhibit the view or set boundaries for where the building ends and the fantastic view starts.
If that isn’t enough, the infinity pool can be set to glow red and the pool has been fitted with underwater speakers for those who can't resist taking a dip. We would recommend staying in the hotel as well as, the place is open all day and all night! Bring on carnival! (http://www.hotelunique.com.br/splashpage/)
Cocoon Club, Germany: We thought we’d include this one as Frankfurt isn't exactly the first place that springs to mind when people normally talk about cutting-edge clubbing locations! However, Sven Väth has launched the Cocoon Club and put the city on the map. A modest venue at 1200 capacity, the venue manages to mix fantastic acoustics and a stunning interior.
There is a 360-degree honeycombed wall surrounding the main clubbing area that is used for visual displays which is absolutely striking! This is amazing as the entire look, mood and energy of the venue can be transformed in a split second. This really takes the venue to another level! The great thing about having a DJing legend like Sven Väth as an owner is that he will undoubtedly draw in the biggest names in dance music to come and play at the venue. However for now, Fridays and Saturdays Väth plays his own set. What a lad. (http://www.cocoon.net/)
Guacara Taina (The Cave), Dominican Republic: Only, one of the oldest club spaces in the entire world... What better place than to have a massive, massive party! You enter the club at street-level and you have to descend into an inner cave which houses a dance floor. This is literally one of the most amazing places that you will ever party in.
At more than sixty feet below the earth's surface, this cave manages to fit more than 3,000 ravers! That is more than Fabric in London! There are three dance floors set around the natural crevices and stalactites that make up the ‘party grotto’s’ atmosphere. Incredible light shows are made even more mesmerizing but the shadows in this hauntingly dark subterranean venue. The dead air and perfect sound insulation are also perfect for playing dance music. As this is such a large venue, if you want to disappear and ‘take a break’, there are places to sit in all the natural twists and turns of the cave. The best time to go to the cave is on a Friday to catch the live merengue show. (http://guacarataina.net)
I hope this inspires you to go out and party! For more places to go out, visit woMAPP.com – the home of clubbing!
